Well that's a well known oddball - a ford model A engine on a Dingbat

never found out if its based on a taylor monoplane but its a Watkinson Dingbat by my recall with a Carden Ford engine

Yes, it's the Dingbat alright. Can't answer on the engine, and it's too late to start digging around again.

Well I’ll guess Jodel for the wing but twin tandem seating and glider tug... hmmmm.

Sheer, pure guess. Pilot Sprite, designed by Pilot magazine in UK a lot of years ago, or another, because of the tug inference, Mitchell-Proctor Kittiwake?

Kittiwake has the same very forward noseleg as the pic but not sure they had taper on the outer panel of the wing.

Practavia sprite did not to my recall have the outboard dihedrtal but straight sihedetalfeom rhe wing root.

It had a supercharger you could select on/off manually.

Was his name Max by chance .....

It is an ACBA Midour glider tug made by the Aéro Club du Bas Armagnac, France, 1990s.

I was going to post that it was made by Socata, it looked so darn French, but I searched every Socata model and drew a blank.

Any idea why a Chinese trainer is painted in what looks very similar to Thunderbird scheme?

Yes Dave, UK plane from the 80's. Known by 2 names, I'll accept either.
