red750 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 You are right of course, kasper. Henry Ford said the Model T was every man's car, and the Flivver would be every man's aircraft. The idea was first proposed to William Bushnell Stout, manager of Ford's acquired aircraft division in 1926. Both Stout and William Benson Mayo, head of Ford's Aircraft Division wanted nothing to do with the aircraft and it was built in a nearby museum building in the Ford Laboratories. After a fatal crash of a prototype into the ocean off Melbourne, Florida, production plans were halted. This one took longer to answer than I expected. If you check back at the photo, note the full span ailerons.
kasper Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Well I do have to work and drive home to have a life. ?. I’ll try to not be offline for more than 30 min if you like ???
red750 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Not just you, mate. I thought there would be plenty out there who would be on it in an instant. It seems like there are quite a few others on here as much as I am - nearly all day.

440032 Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Curled up with a good book, or someone that's read one?
kasper Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Well that’s of the odd British ones. It’s an Avro commodore. Didn’t really work out.
kasper Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 I know of it because it was used by the transport auxiliary to ferry pilots around aircraft factories to deliver aircraft - there are a few good books about the ata and it was mentioned not favourably in one of them.
Flightrite Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I know it's not odd but I never knew they had such a model? 1
