red750 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Not bad. Saab 210 Lildraken. 70% concept prototype for the Draken. Later modifed with intakes moved back to wing root.
onetrack Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Where was the original photo taken? It almost looks like an Australian salt lake bed.
red750 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Don't know. Being Sweden, possibly some airfield with a dusting of snow. 1
Student Pilot Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Shorts made something like similar but that one looks French with that powerplant.

onetrack Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I wonder what nickname they gave it? Something that fugly would have to have a nickname. 1
facthunter Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 FORM follows FUNCTION is these kinds of aircraft.. Nev 1
Marty_d Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I don't know what function it serves having your prop centerline pretty much level with the bottom of an almost flat fuselage, requiring hugely long u/c just to keep your prop off the ground. 1
FlyBoy1960 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 German by the rego so i guess a Bucker Bu 131 Jungmann but not 100% sure
facthunter Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 They have ailerons on all wings. is it a Fisher? Nev
red750 Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 https://www.recreationalflying.com/aircraft/warbirds/bücker-bü-133-jungmeister-r1258/. The Jungmann had tandem cockpits and a Hirth HM 504 4-cylinder inverted air-cooled in-line piston engine, not radial.
facthunter Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I don't think that engine is a radial. Nev 1
onetrack Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) A Platzer Kiebitz, an amateur-built aircraft built from plans by home builders. Quite a surprising number are registered and flying, and the engine choice is up to the builder. Engines used have been a small Nissan automotive engine, Rotax, VW, Sauer, and I believe I've seen one fitted with a radial, possibly a Rotec? EDIT: - No, it has a radial-shaped cowling, but the engine is actually a Limbach 2000 flat four. https://www.planecheck.com/index.asp?ent=da&id=52858&cor=y Edited November 17, 2022 by onetrack 1
