Old Koreelah Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Yes Red you are correct. French planes may be ugly, but they did fly fairly well. Nothing wrong with jodells. Indeed! Jodels are so beautiful they make up for all the ugly ones! 2
Marty_d Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Talking of ugly French aircraft, I came across this one... didn't realise the A380 wasn't the first French double-decker!
red750 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Sorry PMcC, not the d21,although it does look very similar.
Bruce Tuncks Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Breguet deux ponts I googled up " first french double-decker"
red750 Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 OK. This aircraft is a Latécoère 25 Late Let's take a step back in time for the next few.
440032 Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 A 1945 Daimler Benz project "e" I had one, (but the wheels fell off...)
red750 Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 On checking your suggestion, I'll have to give it to you. The 3 view diagram is identical. I copied the image from Pinterest, where it was listed as a Heinkel 108. Here's another oldie.
Bruce Tuncks Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 That project E looks like science-fiction.. gosh the aircraft designers had fun in those days. Are they fighter planes under the wing ready to be dropped from the mothership?
kasper Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Ilyushin Il-102. Two prototypes no production.
red750 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Right kasper. Now back to our type of aircraft.
Bruce Tuncks Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Sabre. A czech offering for RAAus flying a few years ago 1
red750 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 This is actually an interesting aircraft in that appears to be known by a number of names, It is registered as a Jihlavan Skylearder 200, but Google that and you get the Sabre and the Kappa Sova (which means Sabre anyway) as well. The Skyleader is a wider bodied development of the Sabre (Sova).
Thruster88 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 LH Aviation LH-10 145knots on a 100hp Rotax
red750 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 That's right, PMcC Bruce, what have you got against the French? This plane was built in the US between 1928 and 1929.
red750 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Are you guys cheating and using image search? Yes, merc, you re right.
pmccarthy Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Image search is useless. It can tell a plane from a dog but that’s about it.
red750 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Image search is useless. It can tell a plane from a dog but that’s about it. Ha Ha. That's about right. Put up an image of a drifter, and it returns an Airbus or a helicopter. But I have occasionally found the exact image I searched.
440032 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Junqua Ibis - without even having to search. Ka-Ching.
