red750 Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 That's right, Kasper.\, a Noble Hardman Aviation Snowbird.
kasper Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Looks like a Piel Emeraude... ish. But there were so many variations on the original cp-30 it could be one of them so I’ll stick to Claude Piel as the original designer.
red750 Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 I also thought it looked like something else - don't they all. I looked up its design and development and could not find any reference to influence by other designs. That's not to say there isn't a hidden link somewhere. One reference says the designer (not Piel) was influenced by the fighter aircraft in WWII during his youth. I will confirm that it is French.
kasper Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Doesn’t look like a minicab with that canopy but hey there were multiple variations on the gardan minicab as well.
red750 Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Wood frame, fabric covered, 1 and 2 seat variants.
kasper Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Over to others ... there must be a few other Francophile aeroplane nuts out there ...
djpacro Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 I'd already discarded thoughts about the Emeraude and Minicab so ran out of ideas but .... let's go with Menestrel HN700. 1
planedriver Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Oh My God! What on earth were they thinking? Was it made in Ethiopia? You can be honest with us Red, we won't tell a soul.
red750 Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 The point of this topic is for you to tell me, planedriver. Someone will know. If not, I'll tell you in a week. The one piece of info I will give you is that 75 were built before production ceased.
Litespeed Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Right again. Fugmeister mk1. Has special fugly adaptions to repel it from the earth. 1
pmccarthy Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I’m lost , are we still researching 1598 and 1609?

red750 Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 You got it. Made in Quebec Canada. The role of this one is obvious.
red750 Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Yes. There are a few which look very similar. Here is the first.
red750 Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Did you use image search to locate that? You're right with the rego. And the plane.
planedriver Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 A few years ago I took this photo somewhere close to Kathrine Gorge while on a Northern Territory trip . Each time I come across it, I wonder what type of aircraft it is/was. Any idea's?
Head in the clouds Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 A few years ago I took this photo somewhere close to Kathrine Gorge while on a Northern Territory trip . Each time I come across it, I wonder what type of aircraft it is/was. Any idea's? Cessna 310 I'd say, based on the small size of it, for a twin, and the shape of the tip tanks. 2
red750 Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Seven days are up. The red and bare metal biplane in #1623 is a Pheasant H-10.
