red750 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 I must say they do look very much alike, but I can't find any reference mentioning any link between them. The only thing is they are both designed in France and one comment on the type in my photo did say that at least 8 had been built.
BackcountryAeropup Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Apparently it's the only example flying today.
red750 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Seeing somebody has poked this sleeping thread and woke it up, I will tell you, #1650 is a Notteghem Occitan Club. How about this one.

red750 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Yes. Designed by George Pereira. Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co has the rights to distribute the kits for the aircraft, while the plans are distributed by Osprey Aircraft .
red750 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 The blue biplane is a Perth Amboy Bird BK. Try this one: djpacro will get this in no time
kasper Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 The blue biplane is a Perth Amboy Bird BK. Try this one: djpacro will get this in no time I'll bet on Mong Sport ... there are so many variations on that one with wings and cabanes
red750 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 You lose. Sorry. First flight 20 years before the Mong Sport.
red750 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Not the Acro Sport, which first flew in 1972. This one flew before WWII.
red750 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 It's certainly a racer. I can't find much about it other than it has been restored and on permanent loan to an aviation museum. There are only a couple of photos on Google images.
djpacro Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Knight Twister, just saw that Thruster88 got it yesterday, sorry for the delay, I've been off the grid. I'll try to keep up.
Garfly Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Not all that obscure, but still, an interesting type
red750 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Malmö Flygindustri MFI-9 Junior, built under licence and better known as the Bolkow Junior,
facthunter Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Not a Cessna prototype? Looks very tail heavy. Nev
Garfly Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Yes, also known as the Saab MFI-15 Safari and the MFI-17 Supporter. The Danish military version was known as the T-17 (or rather is so known ... since it's still in use as a trainer and used by the Royal Danish Airforce "Baby Blue" display team). I must admit I only came by this impressive knowledge by watching parts of this video of the 2019 RAF Cosford Air Show. The video is a full record of a live stream (6.5 hours!!) but the Danish T17 team can be seen in action starting from 2:28:00 for about 10 minutes.
red750 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Again, someone stirred the pot and woke this thread up so I'll continue the game. The red and white racer is a 1931 Mercury S-1 Racer (on loan from Mercury Aircraft to the Glenn H. Curtiss Aviation Museum, Hammondsport, NY .) The next one is named after its designer. It may have been influenced by one or more other designs, but there is no reference to such in its profile.
Garfly Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Again, someone stirred the pot and woke this thread up so I'll continue the game. LOL ... reminds me of the old joke "When I was young I'd pray to God that some day I'd be somebody. Now, looking back, I realise I should have been more specific."
facthunter Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 If you are famous, you have only one way to go "Down" . Nev
Student Pilot Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 LOL ... reminds me of the old joke "When I was young I'd pray to God that some day I'd be somebody. Now, looking back, I realise I should have been more specific." 1
