red750 Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 The aircraft in #1797 is a Pro. Mecc Freccia Ameno. Wiki page here. And now this -
Student Pilot Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Looks to have no diheadral like 165 Cessna with spar going behind pilots head.
red750 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Description says "two spar single piece wing". Here is another image of the type.
Student Pilot Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 It does have some dihedral then, quite a pretty design. Never seen one before. Looking at that last image it looks to be a powered conversion of a glider.
Deskpilot Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 What ever it is, it doesn't look right. That prop and cowl assembly look like a badly executed add on. Really quite ugly IMO.
red750 Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 OK. I'll end the confusion. The plane is a Praga E.114 Air Baby. Here are the details.
pmccarthy Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Interesting. I was looking at 1950s European homebuilts. It looked better with the smaller engine
red750 Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 The plane in #1810 is a Procea Picchio, a development of the Falco and Nibbio. More here. What is this yellow biplane?
red750 Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 The yellow biplane is a Rhinehart-Rose A4-C, a 1970's revival of the 1950's Rose Parakeet AC-4, and fitted with a Continental O-200, five built. Try this one on for size.
red750 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Alf you did the right thing. Every easily avoidable accident has a big effect on those that make a living in aviation, instructors, operators, maintenance. Praga Alfa One reason that GA is declining is the general public is reluctant to flyi in small planes. I have told my young adult kids they should not go flying in a small plane without asking me first, sad but true. (Small planes are any piston powered) Disregard quotes above, I can't work out how to delete them. I will accept Praga Alfa, although my source had it listed at the Technoavia SMG-92 Turbo Finist. The Praga website says the Alfa is a development of the Finist.
red750 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Good one, Graeme, yes, it's the Team Tango Tango 2. Here's another one that looks like so many others.
kasper Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 I agree - looks like a very unattractive engine fitting to an SA102/SA104 Cavalier homebuilt
djpacro Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 It just needs its spinner back on https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/view/1152579
red750 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 These last few have been too easy. Yes, it is the Cavalier. This one will probably be easy too.
red750 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 The red and white aircraft above is a Thatcher CX4.
red750 Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Another week is up, another plane unidentified. This one is a Techpro Aviation Merlin 100UL. I will create a profile for it. Next:
