Guest ericthered1975 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I share with you some photos of a Boeing B-17 bomber with an exotic and unusual camouflage. Does anyone know if this plane entered service and what the function of this painting? I count on your visit. http://aviacaoemfloripa.blogspot.com.br/2011/01/boeing-b-17-flying-fortress-spotted-cow.html Best Regards, Eric
Kiwi303 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Assembly Aircraft. http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/aircraft-pictures/story-17-a-19761.html That certainly is an Assembly Plane as described by Gary. That particular plane was a B-17F, SN: 42-3441 called "Spotted Cow" and belonged to 384th Bomb Group. She flew 61 combat missions as "Patches II" before being used as an Assy. Aircraft. Here is a website with more pictures of the aircraft: 384th BG: B-17F-60-DL, 42-3441 and B-17F 42-3441
