Old Koreelah Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Coincides with RAA's AGM in Bundaberg. A great opportunity to participate.
flyerme Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Got my invite ;) but for some reason they won't pay to ship me and my nieuport over? Damn that Buzz Shannon. It's all his fault ;)
pmccarthy Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Shouldn't it be " Curse you, Buzz Shannon!"? 1
flyerme Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Shouldn't it be " Curse you, Buzz Shannon!"? I wasn't in costume ;) 1
flyerme Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 As I have a flyin on that day I don't think I'll be able to get in the air! But going to see if a group of us ultralighters might get up asa the show finishes?
Guest ozzie Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Just a circuit will count. With all the Drifters, Thrusters and other open cockpit types we have thought a few more than 6 would sign up for the attempt. Slackers
farri Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Thanks for the info, Ozzie!!! I`ve put myself on the ZeeMap (green pin) and I will fly on the day! Frank.
farri Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Ozzie, This afternoon I had a talk to the guy who flies the X-Air from here (student of mine from way back, when) he will fly also... I`ll pin him on the ZeeMap when he gives me the infio he want`s displayed. Frank.
Geoff13 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 So this has to be in an open aircraft does it? How about I just take the doors off.
farri Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 So this has to be in an open aircraft does it? How about I just take the doors off. Why not?...Nothing said about it having to be rag and tube!...Technically! If it`s RA-Aus registered, it`s considered an Ultralight. Frank. 1
Geoff13 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Mine is still rag and tube, it just has doors. Anyway I am still going to join in. :) 1
SDQDI Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Mine is still rag and tube, it just has doors. Anyway I am still going to join in. :) Well I plan on being up that day wether (or is it whether? Silly sheep, always confuses me that one!) they want me or not:what the: Actually our aero club is planning on flying over to Taree to have a look around over there for the day, if anyone is over that way on that day we would love to catch up and wag some chins:thumb up: Or kick some tyres 1
Old Koreelah Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The Taree trip has come just in time! The Hornet is just getting homesick...
farri Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Glorious day in the Cairns area! Just flown up to see Ron Biondi ( 85 years old, Drifter owner/pilot) and tell him about the event. He`s keen as mustard! I`ll pin him on the ZeeMap ASAP. Frank. Ps, Ron was about to leave home for a day of reef fishing.
facthunter Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Curse you Red Baron. Living in Paradise, and rubbing it in. Nev 1
Guest ozzie Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I suppose it's anything were you can get your knees in the breeze. I think the requirements are on the website link.
farri Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 From the website.......• WHO: Any pilot of an aircraft considered an "ultralight" and/or "open air." Ultralight, PPG, PPC, Trike, Paramotor, Hang Glider, Hot Air Balloon. Any imaginative, magnificent flying machine.
Guest ozzie Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Well it is over and looks like it was a huge success. It started in NZ and followed the sun around the world. The organisers are going through the hundreds of date stamped photos and videos. Just about every thing that could be called an Ultralight flew. Some of the unusual were towed HGs and paragliders. Even a dog in Quicksilver. So whatever the count it will be a record then the planning starts to break that record next year. the official photo upload site is here. https://www.facebook.com/groups/517065451785039/?fref=nf
Methusala Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Love the colours of his wing, Flyerme. Say g'day to Patrick from the Kitfox driver. Don 1
