Hi Folks,

I'm planning a little flying adventure from Perth to Exmouth (via coastal) in the coming weeks in a Gyro and looking to land at Dongara, Geraldton and Kalbarri airfields for refuel. Does anyone fly from these strips and/or know of anyone who could possibly supply me with 20-30 litres of ULP? I would be happy to pay additionally for the assistance.

I've called the local council (aerodrome operators) & local petrol stations and found them to be unwilling to assist :(

Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Andrew

Ulp available at YGEL, but not airside, what day you planning?

YDRA is a little long walk for fuel.

YKBR is big long walk. Better stop is Lynton Station at Port Gregory, to the south of kalbarri. Good place to camp also.

But surely you dont need fuel at all these places, there pretty close. More trouble for you as you go north if you do.

Andrew - many thanks!

Lynton Station seems perfect, i'll give them a call in the morning also.

I'm thinking of passing GEL either Sat 3rd or 10th October.

yes all those stops are pretty close to one another but I was thinking of doing some extra local flying if weather/time allows as all those places are quite picturesque :)

Cheers,

Andrew

Don't forget that you need to give 24 hours PN to the RAAF at Learmonth as it is military CTA from just north of Coral Bay through to Exmouth. Details in ERSA, etc.

Be embarrassing to find yourself with an "escort" up there.

Actually pre planning our next sortee ( thread elsewhere )......ringing here there and everywhere, accom/fuels/places/.........love it.

But..........this coastal bit.....from north Kununarra, then coastal west, right around the top, down to shark bay......it's got me worried........i/we, might like it sooo much, we might track back same route......infact....93% sure now. ( that'll make the missis REAL happy.......coastline now on HER side )

Our jab has purred for 500+ hrs.......do i fit a new donk ????......just might, considering this trip.

those dates should be easy to find someone at YGEL. on 3rd we'll likely be at the aeroclub watching WCE-Dockers grand final on the big screen.

quite a few members listen out on the ctaf all the time so you may be able to get help just by broadcasting. or send an email to the Aeroclub, midwestair at westnet dot com.au with your intentions and we'll post it to all members.
