Skee Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I got all tank fittings pre assembled from icp with holes for tanks and sight gauge. Australia don't want this?
Lyndon Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Had a quick look but can't find it. Take it this is a tool for adjusting something ??? Much later in the build. Lyndon

Lyndon Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Just learnt something. I bought the upgraded trim tab kit. Primed it and I'm now fitting it. It's exactly the same as my kit. Bugger . Anyway with the 15 and 16 mm of movement on the tab. Can I just power up the unit safety or do I have to wait till the plane is ready to fly and adjust it. Be a lot easier to it while I'm building it on the bench. Lyndon
Kyle Communications Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 You can power it up if you do the necessary wiring. Your trim tab is very different to mine I think as the XL and S use a antibalance tab
Lyndon Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Same I think. 5 wires. Earth and an up and down I take it. ??? Anyone know the colours Lyndon
Lyndon Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Two white wires. Just reverse the polarity. 9 volt battery will even work
Kyle Communications Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 too long ago to remember the colours...You just work it out from the paperwork. Mine uses a Ray Allen servo out on the end of the tailplane
Kyle Communications Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 2 wires are for the DC and the other 3 wires are for the feedback position of the servo if you have the LED display module
Lyndon Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Same here. Looks straightforward. Thanks Lyndon
Lyndon Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Servo trim tab.. Manual mentions a right side motor ???.
Kyle Communications Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I thought the VG had a separate trim tab and the servo was under a cover in the tailplane...yours may very be a antiblance tab then like the XL
Lyndon Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 So did I. Mine has a full a full length tab and mounts on the side in the kit ???
Kyle Communications Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Ok maybe they upgraded the later VG kits to the XL style or the other way around...they bought the later version VG style across to the XL and S models
Lyndon Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 I've. Pulled apart my stabilizer. Fitted the upgraded trim
Lyndon Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 Tab that I had all along. I'm not the smartest but the manual isn't real good
Lyndon Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 Holes don't match. Before I drill it. One is Bush size one is bolt size . Thanks Lyndon
Lyndon Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 Next issue is the elevator rubs on the stabilizer. Can't see why or an easy fix other than a mallet. Just scuffs as it cycles Lyndon
Lyndon Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 Just rubs on the rivet. My concern is its so close. In the air with load on it it may still rub without knowing how much clearance should be there while static. I would have thought about 3 or 4 mm minimum. I have zero now so it's a lot to find .
