Congratulations to them both.

Matt Hall is fantastic, even as a Brit I was sort of hoping he'd do it but Bonhomme is an incredible pilot and deserved it.

Looking forward to the 2016 season, any idea on when the schedule is released? I had heard Macquarie Park could be used in March time.

Well done Matt, fantastic achievement

It would be great to see the race back in Australia.

Lake Macquarie council says it's close to securing the International Red Bull Air race.

Council's economic development firm, Dantia has applied to Destination NSW to help fund the event.

If successful, the city could be hosting an air race as early as March 2016.

Dantia chief executive Adam Cougle said it would be a huge boost for the Hunter's tourism industry.

"This will be the largest regional event ever in NSW," he said.

"Therefore with Lake Macquarie city not having the largest accommodation capacity, the event will flow into the entire Hunter Valley.

"Newcastle will be full, the wine country will be full and Lake Macquarie will be full for that weekend."
