dazza 38 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Most other groups mentioned either dont deal with legislative side or it is done for themShooters have police run checks and rego, CASA run ga. all on the public purse Time and public says user pays and it will happen here too. Are you suggesting it would be ok for only builders in RAA to self maintain? the MPC cousrse is very expensive and you do need to be SAAA member think Massive changes Keep clear in mind CASA would likely be happy if RAA and all its aircraft dissapeared. No not at all, it is clear that L1 maintaners have overall been doing a good job. Not many accidents or incidence have been caused by maintenance carried out by L1 guys and gals. When I said in my original post that CASA should issues a Sport pilots licence , and I said including all endorsements I also meant to say including L1 , L2 ect, whatever the RPC has on it.
jetjr Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Never going to happen and a push that way will see RAA loose exemptions. CASA have no facility or acceptance for self maintenance unless a builder and this is a tiny and shrinking group. Also have significant medical requirement which plenty of RAA probably cant pass Neither of which seem to affect safety but thats never mattered for safety regulators before. If your able to live with all that why not forget RAA now and save your money?

CASA wrote the rules for what we do, all RAA has to do is make sure we are complying with CASA's rules. 95.10, 95.55 and 95.32 are orders under CASA, owner maintenance is part and parcel. 1
dazza 38 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 your choicemaybe reply with something useful I wasn't having a go at you, you are not the only one on here that types loose instead of lose. It happens a lot on here, dunno why. Anyway I asked the question because I wasn't sure whether you mean the regulations are loose in meaning and will need work if CASA was involved or did you mean lose as in the RAA will lose the regulations. 1
