we were so poor that the power utility was never paid so we just resigned ourselves to watching television in the dark

We were so poor us kids begged woman walking past our hole in the road for a suckle.

 

Actually, nothing much has changed come to think about it.

During the Aussie power cuts in the 80s,. . it used to drive me nuts having to pedal the RFD Gennie quicker to fast forward thru all the tv ads. . . . .

You had GRASS!!??

 

We used to push our house, well it was a wet cardboard box but it was a house to us, 3 miles just to look at a blade of grass growing halfway down a cliff for our holidays.
