Guest ozzie Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 http://www.nbnnews.com.au/2015/11/08/aero-club-excited-by-regional-airport-plan/ last comment is interesting seeing what was happening a couple months ago.
pylon500 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I'm a bit confused...? The local flying club is going to become the 'regional' local flying club? The airfield used to have a reasonable parachuting community, and there are discussions to start a parachuting community? I wonder if the local council knew it was promoting the airport in the media?
planet47 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I do believe that the past "reasonable parachuting community" went elsewhere due to a number of complaints about their practices
Guest ozzie Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 It was interesting to watch two of the big players in the commercial Tandem scene compete against each other. Add Wyong Councils big grab in huge landing fees and it got pretty spiteful. In the end one sold out to the other and the winner grabbed a slice of Belmont. The real losers in the game are the fun jumper just looking for a real drop zone that doesn't treat them like second rate income.
