Mark11 Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Checking winds forecast trying to pick a good day near the weekend, got 659km/hr wind recorded at Albion park airport (YWOL) on 5/11/15.. That seems unbelievable!
SDQDI Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I could cover some ground with that sort of tailwind, actually I'd probably cover just as much ground if I had it as a headwind:thumb down: 1 2
Mark11 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Posted November 23, 2015 When in Tasmania, we did the Hartz Mountain Peak walk in perfect clear blue sky conditions- after 20mins at the top, the clouds rolled in... That night winds were 180km/hr westerly...
cscotthendry Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 actually I'd probably cover just as much ground if I had it as a headwind:thumb down: Yup, but you'd be flying backwards!
kaz3g Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I could cover some ground with that sort of tailwind, actually I'd probably cover just as much ground if I had it as a headwind:thumb down: I'd be spread all over the ground if I tried to fly in that! Kaz
