He was asked where the car engine would go and hadn't decided yet. Obviously a second engine, so I reckon it will be too heavy to be usable and probably won't fly.

 

I remember reading in I think it was an EAA magazine about a flying car that did fly. It was a car with a hang glider / trike type wing. Havn't heard any more about it.

you didn't watch the video about the retracting rotor? Insane, the centrifugal force required to stop those cables from bending would be massive

He's 94 and hopes to complete it in the next 2 years. I don't think the question should be "will it fly", but "will it get to completion"!

Thee was an old fellow at Oshkosh 2014 who had built but not flown a helicopter with paddles for rotors. The airframe welding was poor. I think the paddles will never lift it, which is just as well.

If he is still active at 94 why shouldn't he finish it.

 

Statisticly he has less chance of dieing at 94 than if he was 80. Very few people die at 94, even less at 100 so the older you are the less chance of dieing

Not many of us have the foresight to prepare for latter.

 

But he still needs the bodywork.

 

Then he will have the means of his death and the coffin.
