facthunter Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Yes. Had a look at that 20 minutes ago. There's a good low there so it might stick around. Originally I thought it might move out to sea. Must have been a bit of a twister around Kernel earlier.Nev
Robbo Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 The met office is saying the tornado cells have moved out to sea. Edit: Spelt "Sea" wrong 1
Akromaster Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Stuck in Canberra airport. No flights in and out since 5pm! They just announced boarding again but who knows how long the queues will be as things start moving again.
Robbo Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Canberra....... What a place to be stuck in !!! Worked out of there for six months and it was the most boring place I have ever been to. Only thing there are fireworks, brothels and strip clubs!!! Oh wait...... Nar still boring!! 2
Akromaster Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Yea, even the locals leave on the weekends 1
facthunter Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Haven't been there for ages now. Used to ride or walk around the Lake. Been to two motorcycle Rally's there. A few good roads and things to see. On those occasions I usually stay at Queenbeyan. They should never consider making Canberra aerodrome a substitute for Sydney. Hills all around except to the south complicates the place and it can get hot and has a bit of altitude. Nev
Robbo Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I remember walking along the river from Fyshwick to the airport and every couple of meters there was a bloody snake!!!
Akromaster Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 The North has hills but the southern approach is a slalom...noise abatement perhaps? Seems like they skirt just outside the populated areas on final approach. 1 1
