dlwd3w Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Hi All, I'm a new start. Work FIFO on some long rotations in Asia. Flying in Brisbane. This looks like a great resource for newbies.
RDavies Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 How long are your stints at work? Where abouts in Asia? At least you will be able to concentrate your training on your leave and hit the books while away at work.
dlwd3w Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 Hey RDavies I'm working 12 weeks on 2 off residential in South Korea. The instructor at my exams today flew a twin Comanche from USA to Norway the cold route (via Alaska). Said he would tell me the full story next time I see him. He gave me the run down on flying here, basically there is none. He said the commercial flight schools have 172's that are extremely expensive to rent and can only be flown dual. So do I get a copy of XPlane and a USB yoke to play with so I don't get Alzheimers? I'm worried I'll get too rusty in between swings.
dlwd3w Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 1 year later, I'm back in Brisbane and have logged my first 5 hours :) 2
