Guest brentc Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 'twas a nice day on Saturday and I didn't have time to head up to Cowra so I headed over to Cobden for their fly-in. Another forum member Alec came along for the ride. Route as per the pics took us past Mt. Martha, Torquay, Point something (the place in the pic with the lighthouse) and Lorne along the Great Ocean Road. Lots of places to land along the Great Ocean Road believe it or not. From there across the hills and into Cobden. A reasonable number turned out, mostly from Lethbridge and a nice lunch was put on by the Aero Club. Not many Rag & Tube's other than an X-Air and an SV. Mostly Jabs, the Tecnam and a couple of those plastic pug-like CT's. Return trip took us over Geelong, then Avalon with a Jetstar machine departing as we passed overhead, then on to Station pier as pictured with a quick stop for a look around at Moorabbin. After that back to Tooradin where a local aviator had his brand new R44 out with his Dad and the kids. A very nice days flying indeed and some good practice for Alec for his upcoming navs. All up 3.0 hours flying. ($110 in avgas)
Guest brentc Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 CT 747 belongs to Greg Merritt of Sunbury. Apparently faster than both of Ian's were ;) Apparently once fitted with the 3 blade it went 10 knots slower. The other one is the dealers as you would know.
Guest Fred Bear Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Nice pics/report mate. Thanks for sharing :)
