Soleair Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 So after 21 months and some 2000 hours I have now officially finished my MiniMax. Here it is in my front yard, just after I did the W&B measurements. It weighs exactly 180kg equipped, dry. I will be registering as a 95.10 Bruce 17 8
Soleair Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Thanks! No, it's a CRE MZ202. 625cc, detuned to 60hp, fan air cooled. I weighed it against my old rotax 503, and it is 10kg lighter - and the MZ has electric start against the Rotax recoil piece of string. I tried to link to the Compact Radial Engines site, but can't for some reason. But here is a link to a thread on this site with a Youtube of my engine on initial trial run. Bruce 1
WayneL Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Congratulations Bruce, I look forward to hearing about the performance figures with that motor. I reckon my Loehle Sport Parasol would go well with the Mz202, better climb, move cg back (good) and give me electric start. I can't get onto Compact Radials site either. Wayne
Soleair Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Thanks Wayne. Tried the CRE site just now, works fine. The MZ202 looks good so far. I'll let you know how it goes when I've flown it. 1
rep003 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I'm jealous! That looks like a lot of fun ... and finished off a treat Two thumbs way UP :)
flyerme Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Well done. Hell of a lot of hours put in there. Glad you stayed motivated to finish it.. Massive accomplishment mate. Congrats.
old man emu Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Congratulations. A very nice job. May all your take-offs and landings be a 1:1 ratio, and may the wind be ever behind you. OME PS. Please amend your Aircraft type in your avatar by deleting the words "Building a" 1
Soleair Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Gosh! Thanks guys! (insert virtual 'blush' emoticon) may the wind be ever behind you. Except on takeoff, presumably 1
Litespeed Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Well done and many a happy fun flight ahead of you. Good to see the art of building is still strong
old man emu Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Except on takeoff, presumably In that case, may your runways be long. Nice amendment to your avatar! OME
craigL Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Congratulations, nice work! I'm gearing up to start a Max 1100r build. I thought about kicking it off with a subkit, but shipping fees would double the cost. Also, building from plans could be more fun. How did you go sourcing materials?
Soleair Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 Great, Craig - you'll love it. PM sent.
