Ah- this guy was just trying to get a selfie of his Darwin award.

 

Naturally he mistook the 50' for 50".

 

As sure as the sun rises each day, a idiot will try and get a darwin award.

 

I wish him all the best in his quest but hope it is a purely solo effort.

You gotta admit though, You wouldn't expect an acft at that height over a road there. If there was a truck he would have collected it.

I'm glad someone else accidentally leaves words out when they type: this heading which no doubt should read "avoids getting HIT by plane" has exactly the sort of mistake I would make.

I looked at that heading several times and didn't notice that a word was missing. My subconscious must have inserted hit, as that is what I thought it said.

Hah - good spot - I actually copied the title from the Popular Mechanics page where I first saw the article ...
