fatmal Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 An interesting article on a long-time sky writer, who has patented sky 'typing' - a good use for a formation rating? http://qz.com/624271/one-man-rules-global-skywriting-and-he-wants-to-bring-color-to-the-heavens/ mal 2
IanR Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 There is a guy at Camden who was setting this up with the intention of using 5 Harvards - not sure where it got to
Yenn Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I saw this many years ago on Johanesburg. Very impressive, but I can't remember what the wording was.
prwood Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 My instructor tried this in Melbourne many years ago. I remember seeing his first attempt, it was like dot matrix printing & was pretty impressive to watch. So fast compared with normal sky writing. The only reason it failed was because trying to organise 5 pilots to be at Moorabbin at the same time & date proved to be near impossible.
johnm Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 would they have to be 5 commercial pilots ? ............................. or would PPL's be able to handle the added responsibility of smoke coming out the exhaust ? (curious about that)
