kgwilson Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Propolis honey is available in most Chemists in Australia & some in capsule form so you don't have to use a spoon. Propolis is a resinous substance collected by bees from leaf buds and barks of trees especially poplars & conifers. It is used to support a healthy immune system & has antioxidant properties to help fight free radicals. I have never used it but it is widely accepted in Western complimentary medicine. 2 1

The link I will get, eventually, is one of the highest rated pure medicinal propolis honeys in the world, and it's from Stradbroke Island. Stradbroke honey has the lowest rating of chemical residues of any honey ever tested in Australia, simply because of where Straddy is. Pure as in from the hives, spun and warmed, not boiled (most are), and importantly, not cut (many are, Capalino is cut with Chinese honey, which is cut with glucose, yet they claim 100% Aus). The people, close friends, are setting up their website right now, was supposed to be done today. 1
mnewbery Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 If you drink the hand sanitizer rather than rubbing it into your hands it won't stop you getting sick but you will care less 1
bexrbetter Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 . Well China just closed for business. For the next 2 weeks, everyone must shut shop unless a medical or essential foods supplier, and it's by law too. The last 10 days was an extension on the Spring Festival National Holiday. This is due to the unabated rapid spread, and easy transfer from person to person, I forgot the word for that .. .
mnewbery Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 This is due to the unabated rapid spread, and easy transfer from person to person, I forgot the word for that .. "Being a bit contagious" ? The medical term is "R Nought" ( R0 ) Basically for every patient zero in a group, assume that the R0 value is the average number infected over the "infectious" period. Some examples: Measles = 12 to 18 SARS = ~3 Corona Virus 2019 ~ 2.5 (still calculating) Flu pandemic of 1918 = 1.4 to 2.8 Hep C or Ebola = ~2 1
Marty_d Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Not to make light of it, but do you remember the old joke about Little Johnny using the word "contagious" in a sentence? "Yesterday my dad and I were driving along, and we saw this truck carrying oranges which had fallen all over the road, and my dad said 'It's going to take the poor contagious to pick those up!' " 2 2
bexrbetter Posted February 15, 2020 Author Posted February 15, 2020 " contagious" No, I told you it's a rapidly spreading, it's not taking it ages at all. You walked into that one, hehe. (summed up in Marty's Johnny joke). 1

Marty_d Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 The "oops" problem prevents me from giving that a Funny. Rest assured M61 I almost choked on my beer. 1
bexrbetter Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 The "oops" problem prevents me from giving that a Funny. Rest assured M61 I almost choked on my beer. It's all give and take, not a problem for me :-) Some supplies got through to me yesterday, so I'm back into it. I didn't have any piano hinge left that I thought I did (well I can't find it in the factory anyway) and as simple as no titanium oxide to spray between the assembled parts for ant-corrosion is what was stopping me the last week and a bit. Yesterday I hand made (laser and sheetmetal shops are closed of course) the VS lead edge fairing, if for no other reason than for the people who keep asking me if I'm leaving the lead edge flat like the 3D drawing, sigh ... 2
Butch Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I'm getting the "oops" problem too! Does anyone know how to fix it ? thanks in advance. "Sorry Bex not trying to hijack your thread, but it is annoying the sh-t out of me"

bexrbetter Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 I was delighted that some piano hinge got through to me that allowed me to make a start on the Rudder and after that, the HS Elevators. But the laser and sheetmetal shops are closed of course, so I am having to slum it and cut, drill and fold with my hands, MY HANDS! just like a Peasant, oh the humility, I'm glad my Grand-Mother isn't around to see how low I have fallen ... Loosely mounted with a couple of rivets, tomorrow some ribs for it and the lower ventral fin ......... MY HANDS!!! 2 1

MY HANDS!!! Welcome to the peasantry, brother. We'll overlook your aristocratic origins and make a place at the (hand-made) table for you. 1
bexrbetter Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 Welcome to the peasantry, brother. We'll overlook your aristocratic origins and make a place at the (hand-made) table for you. . I had to count my money last night to make me feel better, the champagne bath was soothing too.. . 1 1
Bryon Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 It is only aerated if you fart whilst in the bath:oh yeah: 1
nomadpete Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I don't know why Bex is complaining. The Co v19 alleged pandemic (I don't do acronyms), is over. Get on with it Bex! The pandemic doesn't get a mention in the news now. So it must be over. Our news is back to a the usual amazing facts about footballer's or royalty love lives (and drugs). Seriously, though, I do get rather annoyed at the short news cycle. Seems that they have milked the hysteria and misinformation and then dropped the story. 1
bexrbetter Posted February 20, 2020 Author Posted February 20, 2020 The Co v19 alleged pandemic (I don't do acronyms), is over. Get on with it Bex! On February 6th, there were 25,000 infected and 500 deaths On February 13th, 60,000 infected, and 1400 deaths. Today, February 20th, it is 76,000 infected and 2200 deaths, and that is with all businesses closed and everyone staying indoors. There is no cure at this time, and it ain't stopping. The UK seems to be the only Country taking it deadly serious. Japan doesn't want to say a thing because it's concerned about the affect on the Olympics, which may yet have to be cancelled. America, well they're Americans: "Our Flu is bigger than your Flu, and stop eating bats ....". Anyway.... I am traveling straight to my factory on deserted roads, and straight home again, with no human contact otherwise. So today ... Bob the Plane gets a bum steer ... Never thought about it before, but a rudder is a "bum steer", literally! My laser and sheetmetal fold shop are still closed at the moment, won't be open for another week apparently, so still bringing out the old skills and making my rudder by hand. So time for ribs. No, not the ones you eat, though I am feeling hungry now thinking about them.... Anyway, drew up and drilled a master pattern cut out 7 more clamped them together and match drilled them with my drill jig as one. Stuck them in my temp folder and they turned out fine after a bit of persuasion here and there. Riveted them into the rudder, and all seems fine, but I admit I don't much like it very much after being so used to the precision now with using cnc laser, so will be happy to get back to that shortly. I think I have a callus on my hand, just like a worker, that will require plastic surgery, I'm certain. . 5
nomadpete Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Thanks for the updates (both of them). Nice pictures of your new manual Metalcraft skills. I see no pictures of alleged callouses though.... And another thing, when are you going to stop eating bat ribs? Those yanks are always giving the world great advice! Take care and just be thankful for the light traffic on your commute. Great to see your progress. Stay safe. 3
bexrbetter Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Made a start on the Elevators today .. .
nomadpete Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Wow. They look so neat, they might be hand crafted! 1
bexrbetter Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Wow. They look so neat, they might be hand crafted! It's a PIA!! The laser shop is still closed of course, and my newly ordered CNC Router obviously has been delayed to be built because they are obviously closed as well. I'm hoping the CNC Router will eliminate the laser shop completely.
