so when a l2 l4 LAME repairs your 2 year old air craft with out repair manual for said aircraft or maintanance manual and raa was informed of this that there is a specific regulation and law for the repair of aircraft after an incident or accident not guide lines the repairer did not obtain repair manual raa reps did not actthere a few aircraft that do not have repair manual granted but part of the importation of aircraft is that they will comply with certain international laws and regulations

so why has raa reps now asking for data from l2 l4 and making a song and dance about it 8 years later when they have known or should have known to hard for them

if this senerio was out off their reach why not push it to the regulator cassa their the boss

p/s oh by the way cassa did pass the buck back to raa

farri after telling one ex rra rep to go back to school and learn to read and look at photos

I still have the parts that were removed from said aircraft that raa have on two occasions failed to have examine by them when they were less than 4 mtre from then neil

I think I get where you're coming from, however if one of our clever members could develop a "Storchy Translation App"

That would be a great help

That doesn`t seem to be a reason to bring the RA-Aus into disrepute, if that`s all there is to it!

Maybe the issue is Neil is upset, understandably, I would be too, yet there is nothing RAA can do. Blame is still being publicly laid at RAA feet.

RAA cant take action against someone who won a legal case even if it is seen as unjust.

Stay away from Cops and courts and your life will be more worth living. I've never had any justice Neil, but you have to move on or it will destroy you, old mate . I could write a book on aircraft maintenance (Where it wasn't done right)...Nev

There isnt a windfall from ditching paper magazine because we didnt, its still there however with not enough subscribers to make it pay.Now the rest of members have to pay the difference

Well then why did they go online with it, it seemed to be going fine. Dont understand the logic of that one, specially if it isnt saving money as you say..???

The paper version is probably being kept for a while to soothe those with withdrawals.

If you believe what you read here the management would be lynched and RAA collapse if they cut it off altogether

While the posted material is not disputed to have value the apparent handing over of personal details without concern for the fact that RAAus hold that personal detail for limited purposes is not IMHO acceptable.

My Personal details associated with my VH registration are out there for everyone to see on CASA's website.

I rather suspect that RAAus is obliged to provide its members' details including registration numbers to CASA because CASA has the overall responsibility for its operations under the Act...and , of course, it does everything in the name of safety.

In considering the cost benefits of Sport Pilot hard copy vs digital, its not just the print costs which has bearing on the final margins. What about the revenues the printed version was generating? I'm thinking corporate advertising and also aviation classifieds. I wonder how the reduced hard copy circulation may have effected advertising and the overall margins of the magazine? I still don't see much difference myself but wonder if anybody knows..?Alan

What about the costs of postage?

My office is paying $1.00 for each letter we mail out now. Even with bulk discounts, it seems clear that posting 8500 magazines 12 times each year represents another significant cost.

You won't have to worry about that for too much longer. Some have a different view but time will tell who is correct. I am glad you are happy.Membership and registration in the future?

Frank I can read between those lines actually I say it is more like a neon sign.

(1) the surplus is being eaten away at a great rate of knots.

(2) Membership and registration will be going up at a great rate as well.

I think my thoughts would be 100% accurate.

With those two issues considered those who want a smaller surplus will be very happy.

I will not be, as our affordable flying will be gone with their mini GA and mini GA maintenance.

Regards,

KP.

Interesting that we were told that they had to drop the paper magazine or put fees up. Now the paper mag is gone and fees have gone up. Just Saying. :)

At the AGM the CEO said he hoped that in the (near?) future RAAus would again provide members with a (free?) hard copy of Sport Pilot. 016_ecstatic.gif.156a811a440b493b0c2bea54e43be5cc.gif

The magazine has never been free. Cost of the magazine WAS incorporated in the membership. With the magazine taken out of our benifits well that is cost of membership increase. What is the cost of running our computers we are paying that plus the down load data "We pay for that" not RAAus so that is delivered to us free of charge to RAAus hence there is more membership increase.

ALSO when we buy the paper copy it is only half the size it used to be. Planes for sale section gone.

Everything is diminishing except our membership and rego fees..

The copy may be free, but it wouldn't surprise me if annual membership then started approaching $300. Smoke and mirrors..... all of it!

The leaders as you say was elected by a very small portion of the membership in just their own little areas. I did not vote for them to lead our Association neither did all the members that voted around most of the country. In fact the President that is leading our whole Association was elected by just a handful of votes only in the ACT, just a handful of people in our WHOLE Association. Think about that, how our Association succumbed to a hostile take over using our ever diminishing money and we let it happen.
