Parkway Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Just wondering what programs people are using for video editing? I've recently got a second GoPro and have thus outgrown using windows movie maker (can't overlay 2 videos, kinda clunky for editing two videos of the one event together etc) I'm looking for a free or reasonably priced program that can have multiple videos overlayed, and edited together fairly easily. This is my first flight with the second camera, using Windows movie maker though. Kinda awkward to use with the two angles :) 1
flyerme Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I use cyberlink power director.( no.1 for years) And magix. Cyber link for most and magix fir some minor stuff that cyberlink doesn't do( go pro precise zooming) You can get them on trial at no cost to see how you like them.... Unfortunately you will ultimately have to fork out a little coinage, but well worth it.. Also comes down to your PC.. Better graphics etc.. Will make things a lot easier.. And in the editing world. A little is a lot, when coming to touch ups etc.. Have fun. Hope it helps 1 1

My $100+ reg fee was refunded on cyberlink when it wouldn't run on my old laptop... New laptop 2 years later has no issues. Love it...
Parkway Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 I can handle $100, it's the big price tags on programs like Vegas I'm not willing to pay!! 1
cscotthendry Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I also use Cyberlink Powerdirector. I have been using it since V8 and am now on V14. In the beginning, I downloaded the trial versions of; Adobe Premier Elements, Sony Vegas, Corel Video Studio and Cyberlink Power director. My experiences with them were not favorable, except for PD. I use a multi-camera setup when I film and PD has a function called Multi-Cam designer. It takes video streams from up to 4 cameras and an optional separate audio track and allows you to synch all of them, then take clips at random. It is easier to use than to describe and to do what MCD does, by other means would be enormously time consuming. PD now also has some nice features for working with popular sports cameras such as lens correction functions, speed changes, motion tracking and a host of other genuinely useful features. It also has the usual fizzy graphics and transitions so beloved by beginners and people creating flashy advertising. It has rudimentary animation capabilities and facilities to create and animate sprites. For more serious use, Cyberlink also has side programs that integrate seamlessly with PD such as Audiodirector and Colordirector. These programs often come up as special deals with PD. In short, bang for buck you can't go past Powerdirector. I know this sounds like an ad, but it's not. Here's a video done with multicam designer 3

That's my main problem, having to go to great effort to sync portions of video from one camera to another etc. thanks again! 1
