Hi im new to this forum. I'm hoping to join aviation college in Sri Lanka.

Before joining im searching about the life of an cabin crew member.

How do they manage while long flights? Sleep food?

I found some article says there is a hidden room for cabin crew members to sleep.

The Secret Airplane Bedroom Where Flight Attendants Sleep - Wonder Discovery

Is that true?

If cabin crew can sleep? Who will work?

how often do they get leaves?

Can anyone briefly explain this

And i want to know can cabin crew members get promotions?

That depends on their willingness to go to the secret bedroom with the Captain or not.

It's not always turbulence you feel on a long trip.

Hi:

This is my understanding of crew sleeping arrangements. There is a place on long haul aircraft for crew rest. It is only used on long flights. On these flights there is enough crew members that some rest while others work. These flights usually carry 2 flight crews who rotate about every 4 hours, I think. For cabin crew, there are times when demand for their services, like drinks and food, is lower because the passengers are watching movies or sleeping. So some of the cabin crew can rest at those times.

I don't have any more knowledge about crew leave arrangements or promotions. I think those things would differ from airline to airline.

Hope this helps.

If you need 3 techcrew due long duty times, the one not in the cockpit has "suitable" rest facilities. You can work up to 23 hours straight that way. Nev

Dear ManuDil,

This forum may not be the best place to find out information about the life of a cabin crew member. (It is mainly about flying very small planes for fun.) I would suggest that you try asking your question on this forum.

Bex, stop giving false information to the poor girl.

The captain only takes the flight attendants to the hotel bedroom between flights. During flights, he holds his joystick.
