Blackhawk Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 11 km west of Maryborough, Queensland in the great Fraser Coast All information is contained in the web site; www.aquila-airpark,com
Nobody Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Just had a look at your website. I like the layout of the air park with the two roads/taxiways down the side of the runway. Just looking the through the " operation and safety procedures manual" what is the thinking behind limiting it to recreational aircraft only? It is an insurance thing? Or a council restriction? Seems a bit strange to prohibit GA registered aircraft.
Blackhawk Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 It was a council restriction as there is a GA airpark proposed for Maryborough Airport which the council has an interest in.

Blackhawk Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 Two of the many hundreds of house designs suitable for airpark house/hangar homes
stickshaker Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Looks good, I'm sure dealing with council was an experience especially with the conflict of interest. Will be interesting to see if they ever get their project off the ground. Maryborough Airport is definitely underutilised these days. What's the internet situation there, and does it have town power/water/sewerage?
Blackhawk Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 Yes, dealing with council was an experience but the state government worse, they had people building brick walls before we could put the application to them. Aquila Airpark is totally Green, all homes are Off-grid Solar, 32.5 Kw/hr per day Solar storage which is supplied by the developer to all land purchasers. (Installation is the responsibility of the land buyer) Internet and Phone will be through the NBN Wireless Network. Rain water tanks will be the land buyers responsibility. (normal practise for semi rural estates) Sewage treatment system will be the land buyers responsibility. (normal practise for semi rural estates) Garbage collection will be carried out by FCRC as a standard service. All street lighting and common area lighting is Solar.
Blackhawk Posted October 9, 2016 Author Posted October 9, 2016 I've been talking to some of the local builders around the Fraser Coast and a House/Land/Hangar package would start around $360,000 depending on the choice of block but would average $450,000 for a very good size modern home and spacious block. So for any keen aviators looking for the Airpark lifestyle; it will be very affordable, especially if your looking to get out of the city rat race to a very pleasant country/coastal outlook. Details of builders and what they offer will be available here and the website in the next couple of weeks.. 1
Blackhawk Posted October 9, 2016 Author Posted October 9, 2016 For those wishing to go down the owner builder path, there are excellent steel kit homes that you will save a lot of money on your investment. We will also include a list of these companies and some designs to give some more ideas to ponder.
