Hi all

After a 4 year hiatus from flying I've just gone through the amazing process of medicals and AFR to be back current with my PPL and now want to return to regular flying for fun the way it used to be for me before kids and work got in the way.

Looking forward to seeing you all on here and in the sky

Happy Flying

G'day Mike,

God to see another Sandgroper here. Who do you fly with and what do you fly. I used to fly out of YPJT then sort of gave it up as it became more costly and hard to justify. Now flying Trikes as a bit more affordable.

Thanks for the replies and the PM.

Dinga I'm currently with the Aero Club flying 172s (just moved to Cessna land - learnt at Minovation in the Pipers)

Trikes look like a lot of fun! I'm considering a tail wheel endorsement and some Tiger Moth time to get some wind in my hair so imagine the Trike would give you that same raw stick and rudder feeling.

I'd consider a move down to Murray Field to get some better access to RAA whilst also having the VH option if I choose, but also need to balance the CASA recency of 3 take offs etc for pax...a tough call right now thus the decision to renew ppl and do AFR and start exploring other options now I'm comfortable back behind the yoke so to speak.

Certainly keen to join a club or two and get involved I'm passionate about flying and about the friendships that come along with a great hobby like this that we are all privileged enough to be able to enjoy and share.

Cheers

Nice. I too did my PPL with Min I was pretty much about her second Licence when she started I had been flying with Phoenix prior to that and in Carnarvon prior to that.

I was using Lake Clifton for a little while but now hanger the Trike at White Gum Farm York, they have a great facility for RA, accommodation, camp kitchen etc and now the White Gum Airpark is taking shape. They have plenty of runways but 09 is great and suitable for most ac.

Yes, Microlights certainly get the wind in your hair (so to speak) and is lots of fun (most of the time).

Keep in touch, would be good to catch up sometime, the social flying scene needs work here.

Cheers

Hi to another West Aussie :)

If any of you are down Bunbury way anytime please holla ... the Big Breakfast fly-ins on the first Sunday of each month tend to draw a few folk from the big smoke :)

Cheers

Thanks Repa

Thanks for the west aussie welcome ;)

I occasionally get down Bunbury way so will keep in touch.

Maybe a few of us big smoke based pilots can arrange a bit of a ride share and head down for the day...I'd be happy to get us a 4 seater and head down from Jandakot if anyone is keen.

Sounds great, definitely will. Hopefully fly down in something. My trike would need to refuel along the way :-) otherwise I'd do it.

Well sounds like we have 2 takers for a flight southwards bound.

I'll keep an eye on weather and it lining up with the first Sunday of the month and I'll put a post up on here "advertising" the day and if it works for us we can sort out an aircraft.

Wow - you're flying over one big emergency landing field. Must be relaxing. Not many flat fields round my way. . .

LOL, thank Soleair, yes it is quietly comforting to fly along picking out the best looking ones in case of an emergency, just about anywhere would do if the need arose. Not too much of that in the Blue Mountains eh :-)
