This is not a hard one considering England has already done it, and why do we have to rehash the whole damn thing. The English are anal-retentive in flying. So why do we need to set up a whole group and thrash this thing out and go over it again, and waste how much time. CASA has the stats from England it’s not a biggie and I can assume that a few bureaucrats are going to stake a claim to build a little kingdom that they’re doing this in Australia and make it big deal. It’s no biggie. Casa has always overcomplicated everything introduced rules just because they can some make sense some don’t. I would like to see someone in CASA act to simplify operational rules for sport aviation and for private GA, just one for example, how about all controlled airspace near have a low level corridor that allow aircraft just to fly through and just report at reporting points as a general call, instead of getting specific clearances. 2
facthunter Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 There's nothing in it for them but a bit of risk, which they run a million miles from. Lawyer think. Can't talk in plain language let alone Plane language The trendy end is what they like. The mundane stuff they should be attending to doesn't grab them. Happens in many industries. Get with the action and the glitz. Be there and be conspicuous. Be promoted. The bottom end of the market doesn't do it. No one's looking. Nev 2
Nobody Posted October 30, 2016 Author Posted October 30, 2016 I actually think that this announcement is bigger news than you guys give it credit for. For a start the review isnt being undertaken by CASA but by the "Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics." The other part that is interesting is that "Mr Chester will also ask the General Aviation Action Group, formerly a subgroup of the Aviation Industry Consultative Council, to report directly to him in future." This gives the industry and pilots the opportunity to ta;l directly to the minister who can hopefully get CASA back into line. 1
