sgnden Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Hello: Just found this forum. This is my first post. I grew-up around single engine airplanes. My grandfather had a Swift and a Beechcraft Bonanza. He never accepted that he couldn't remove landing gear parts, toss em in his El Camino, "repair", and reinstall himself. Suffice to say, the Swift's emergency gear deployment crank is NOT easy to access (don't ask me how I learned this fun fact)! Anyway, I never completed my PPL, logging only 15 hours in a part 141 school in the Denver/Boulder area. However, flew at least 50 hour in my lifetime when 'ol cowboy grandpa was still above ground. My uncles were commercial pilots and Naval aviators so it's always been in my sights. I am thinking about going back to get my PPL but given my business commitments simply don't have the time. Looking toward to next Summer to restart! Meantime, I'm going to go ahead and sell all of the gear I bought a few years ago and re-up when the time is right. I have more questions about how to best proceed, but will ask in another post. Have fun... 1
