facthunter
like I said earlier. You can know too much to pass the exams. You have to know JUST what they want and in many cases real confusing answers are all you choose from. It's not meant to be a cryptic crossword or an IQ test. It's a test of knowledge and hopefully in a practical application situation. Nev
spacesailor
WOW!. Arthur, Never thought it ( bureaucracy) would catch you out, ever. Poor students with lower education, even guessing airfield locations is hard with the Y in front of their abbreviation, Yass being the exception. spacesailor
planesmaker
Having just done the W&B exam I am wondering if any one out there has scored 100%? I would really like to know if it's even possible.
Yenn
I gave up, couldn't be bothered. I doubt that I will build another plane and I know I can do the W&B necessary to fly safely. Just too much B/S for my liking.
facthunter
At one time 100% was the pass mark in W&B and Fuel Management in Airlines. You can see that a "concept" of getting it right in those topics, say 4 out of 5 ( 80%) wouldn't be good enough for the outcomes expected. Loading and fuel tankage is far more complex than what you might imagine. Fuel.... 8 tanks with crossfeed to any one engine of four and if you pull air from an empty tank it stops all the props connected to it. You can also vent most of it overboard if you muck it up. Some of those designs were a deathtrap..Nev
