Philip Seale Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Hello everyone, I hope this note finds you all well and enjoying our shared passion. Like a lot of you, I have a busy life, with not enough time found to enjoy this website but I have found the forums to be invaluable during my own build. I thought it also high time I got rid of that annoying message :) whenever I log on. While I was born in Australia, the South Island of New Zealand is home. I am very much a part of the aviation scene here and my website is www.savannahnz.com where you can find a little more about me. Safe flying everyone and I look forward to meeting some of you in the future. Philip Seale
Ivor Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Hi Philip, Flew over your hangar at 4:30pm yesterday with Volkmar to see if you were in and have a look at the completed Savannah, but figured you were out flying the big iron on some International route. Cheers Ivor

eightyknots Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi Philip, to the forum. I'm an Australian living in Enzed as well (in the sunny Wairarapa) and it's nice to see you have a Savannah S. I would like to construct a Savannah myself, starting later this year.

Thank you for your note and if I may say so, a very good choice in aircraft you have. Its a few days away from the Great Plains Fly-in at Ashburton (NZAS) where I will have an I.C. P. light aircraft display. When the weather clears later I will position ZK-MYN there and take up residence for the long weekend ahead. Do stay in touch, contact details on the website. We are always available for Savannah information or for you to come and visit. Philip
farri Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Hello everyone, Hello Philip, ...Havn`t flown the Savannah but have flown the Zenith 701...I think the Savannah would be fairly similar!...Correct? Frank. 1
Philip Seale Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 Hello Philip, ...Havn`t flown the Savannah but have flown the Zenith 701...I think the Savannah would be fairly similar!...Correct?Frank. Hello Frank, Thanks for the note. Yes they are. However, besides similar startling STOL characteristics the Savannah S fly's further, faster higher and in greater comfort. I have friends with Zenith aircraft and we all agree on one point, we love our respective aircraft and that they have similarities and differences that match the owners requirements and likenesses. Last weekend myself and a great bunch of friends including fellow builder Haydn Bell and Reg Brost from Aerokits Australia attended a Fly-in at Ashburton (NZAS) in the South Island of New Zealand. It was the annual SAA (NZ) meeting with over 80 aircraft attending, hosted by the wonderful folks at the Ashburton Aviation Museum. ZK-MYN, a Savannah S was awarded the Robbie Robson Memorial Trophy for "Best Kit-Built Aircraft for 2017." Do drop in to Forest Field one day and meet us. Best regards, Philip 2

I`m at Deeral 45 k south of Cairns and fly from my own property....I flew the Zenith 701 over a 10 year period! I thought it was a good easy to fly, aircraft. Cheers and all the best with the Savannah. Frank.
