Saw another version of this skit, with Ernest Borgnine as a barman in place of Dean Martin. At the point where Foster Brooks says "I'm sure I've seen your face before", Borgnine said "I was on your plane. I sent you a note to ask where we were". Brooks replied "I sent the note back saying 'I don't know, I've never been this far off track before.' ".

I would have laughed a lot harder when I first saw this many years ago. Maybe people don't find drunk pilots that funny anymore.

He did a number of other professions as well - a brain surgeon, a dentist, and in celebrity roasts, a baseball umpire, etc., and sent up Don Rickles, Lucille Ball, Betty White, Sammy Davis Jr, Hubert Humphrey, Carroll O'Connor.

I'm not a particular fan of Dean Martin and the Airline pilot thing is done to death pretty much with "these things fly themselves" aspect a pretty common theme. Nev
