Marty_d Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 You would need a complex microprocessor plotting all possible points of contact with another moving? irregular object These days someone could probably write an android app to do that. Apparently there's a million people in the air on average at any given time, and airports are only going to get busier. I think it'd be worth the airline's time and money to fit some ground collision-avoidance systems. One little dingle like this one, even if there are no injuries, would have to cost a motza.
facthunter Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 There are plenty of support systems relating to other matters of aircraft safety one could attempt to justify that could be considered before what you suggest, to alleviate ground contact issues and other even more important monitors like accelerate -stop actual performance as an example. There's limited room in a cockpit for extra displays and people have plenty of things to attend to already with checks, clearances and so forth. Proper apron layout and some form of control is the only real solution in congested cramped situations. They built terminals and everything else before the operational aspects are attended to as no one but the pilots notice that and there's no headlines for a few paint lines. Nev
Captaincoop Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 You can get anything if you wanna pay for it. Probably cheaper to have a reliable marshaller tho
