DGL Fox Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 RIP John Glenn, he was a true pioneer of the early space program..a true hero in my eyes of those early days... David
Bennyboy320 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 He was the last of the Mercury Seven, "Gods speed John Glenn."
fred cenko Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Absolute legends as was Allan Shepard before him.We use that word legends many times, but words cant describe these guys,Their missions never tried and tested apart from Yuri Gagarin just beating them,no fancy wiz bang computers, sitting in tight cramped sardine liked conditions,as were the mercury capsules. What a life to be celebrated. 1
red750 Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 “As I hurtled through space, one thought kept crossing my mind - every part of this rocket was supplied by the lowest bidder.” - John Glenn.
fred cenko Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 “As I hurtled through space, one thought kept crossing my mind - every part of this rocket was supplied by the lowest bidder.” - John Glenn. Talking about rockets being supplied buy the lowest bidder, spare a thought for this poor unfortunate cosmonaut, the late Vladimir Komorov,a real victim of Russian roulette from the space race
