In February, the QE2 arrives in Adelaide. On board will be a cousin of mine I've never met. She is co-owner of History | Petwood Hotel , the Dambuster's officers mess during the war. There's still a room dedicated to them.

617 Sqn achieved far more than just the dam raids. Their precision bombing was orders of magnitude more accurate than the standard of the day. They destroyed Hitler's channel guns and their bombs punched thru 25 metres of laminated concrete protecting U-Boat pens.
