davidc95 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Does anyone in Bundaberg know what happened to Hinkler Flying School? While I was spending a few weeks up there in 2014 I did some flight training with Max in his fleet of Jabiru LSAs. Found him to be an extremely professional instructor and a genuinely charismatic person.
ave8rr Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Had enough and closed shop! Bundy Flying School also closed. Queensland Aviation from Redcliffe doing a bit of GA/RAAus training.
Mick Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 ProSky from Maryborough comes to Bundy a couple of days a week doing RAAus training in an Evektor Sportstar.
Yenn Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Sad to hear that Bundy is closing down, I have done a flight review with one of the operators there in the past. Is the flying club still operating? I wonder where sport flying is going, there seems to be less and less going on. Gladstone had a club in the seventies and it closed down. A new club was started a few years ago and Mick was an active member. that closed down due to the airport operators being rat bags. Gladstone of course has always been one of the highly paid, young family towns, which you would have thought would be good for flying. Bundy has more aviation history. I wonder why flying is not so popular.
