farri Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 AirCam Flies Slow and Low - Manufactured and Distributed by Lockwood Aircraft
old man emu Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 One of these was operated by a company which made a film using one of those really big Cine-Max cameras. It came into Camden for servicing a few years ago. Seen from a distance, the Aircam is reminiscent of a 1920s Handley-Page airliner. flyerme Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Ther was one at last Avalon Air show... also seen vid of someone water skiing behind an aircam in flight.. found pic
farri Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Bill Morgan, Up here in the Tolga area of the Atherton Tablelands, has one on floats! He flies it from his property there and Lake Tinaroo! Last time I spoke to Bill, he had it registered VH Experimental so that he could keep the third seat in it. Franco. 1
bexrbetter Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 $65,000 USD for a kit with no engines? Gotta be keen.
DenisPC9 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 If you want to see a Drifter on Steriods, check out this Pterodactyl ;-) http://www.worldaircraftco.com/surveyor/

Downunder Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 If you want to see a Drifter on Steriods, check out this Pterodactyl ;-)http://www.worldaircraftco.com/surveyor/ I do like the idea of an aluminium framed, 4 stroke drifter.....( folding wings would be good too) This one looks "dead in the water" as far as sales go.....
pmccarthy Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 An agent at Oshkosh told me that you must have a twin endorsement in the USA. However the Aircam has minimal asymmetric thrust an will take off from water on one engine if needed.
Marty_d Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 $65,000 USD for a kit with no engines?Gotta be keen. If you can afford two Rotax 912's I guess the kit price won't put you off. 1
JG3 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 If you want to see a Drifter on Steriods, check out this Pterodactyl ;-)http://www.worldaircraftco.com/surveyor/ That'll be a really good aircraft I reckon. A good replacement for the old Drifter, now with a 912, better landing gear, and durable all metal structure. That's designed by Max Tedesco who also designed the MXP 740, since copied by ICP and renamed the Savannah. He has long experience designing and building practical ultralight aircraft. JG
Cosmick Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I agree re the WAC Surveyor, noticed these a couple of years ago but don't seem to have 'taken off' as yet. Video review follows.
