airangel Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 For those that are interested where Ian,s 4848 is, it is now [i believe] the first resident CT in South Aust. It lives at Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsular after its successfull flight from Riddell Last week..........And so my questions to you more experienced CT owners will begin............David H
Guest palexxxx Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Congratulations and enjoy. I'm very jealous. Peter.
Deskpilot Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Hi David, congratulations, you lucky bugger. Adelaide to Edithburgh, that's a long drive when you want to fly. Why not closer to home? I'm down at Morphett Vale but fly out of Murray Bridge, too many vine poles at Aldinga.
airangel Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 Doug, Question..When you have an engine failure is it better to land along the rows of vines or at 90 degrees to them? Answer... at the end of the day it doesnt make any difference!
Deskpilot Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Quite right David, look at the J160 that had an efoto. He tried to land along the line(never across) but still ended up inverted. Luckily he and his passenger was unhurt, THIS TIME. I'll stick to the nice flat(ish) paddocks at MB and will go under the power lines if necessary.
PaulN Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Good choice of a/c David. I know for sure you're going to get a real buzz from 4848 ... enjoy. Paul
airangel Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 Thanks, hpoe to catch up sometime. David
