spacesailor Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I've watched the "visible combustion" for decades!. (Colour-Tune) Glass spark-plugs were every-were in the fifties, Always made me shiver looking at a glass -spark to see the colour of the flame, blue hot & lean mixture, orange cool & rich mixture. Still have them and came in useful fixing a miss-firing 582 Rotax, spacesailor
Hargraves Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Yes spacesailer every thing old is new again. But still an interesting vid all the same and those plugs were befor exahust gas sensors were used for tuning ICE,s as well.
spacesailor Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 They (colour-tune) still work even with exhaust-gas-analyzer, don't always get it right tho. Crazy design puts two temperature sensors in the block, one for the engine management the other for the dash indicator, dash say's hot but block sensor puts the choke (equivalent) on full as reading cold. spacesailor
