rotatingturbine Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Hey all, Thought I'd give this a try to see if anyone has any contacts for work experience in aviation in SE Qld. I live on the Sunshine Coast, about an hour north of Brisbane. I have been rejected by a few major companies (airservices, QF, VA, Rex, flight school) so I thought i'd ask if anyone knew of any other places to ask. I was originally hoping for a spot in the jumpseat for a few flights, but apparently they don't do that anymore, even with an ASIC. I'm really hoping for anything at YBBN, YBSU or even YBCG to do with aviation, even if it is just scanning boarding passes, I would probably find it fun. I am about 3/4 through my RAA cert, and have a Red ASIC if that helps. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Liam

bunyips Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Hi Liam, Another aspect of the industry to look at is Skydiving. There are a lot of companies down your way or across Australia for that matter that are alway looking for reliable and keen ground crew, drivers, parachute packers and of course Pilots. Try some of them mate. You might be surprised. Just don't start jumping ;)

Cheers, Liam Make a call to Kingaroy gliding club about perhaps getting trained up as a tug pilot. May be a way to build experience. One of thier tugs was a cessna KML. Also very active and a strong membership that fly during some weekdays and weekends.
