spacesailor Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Does any-one know if there is camping, (like Narromine), Can;t fly but can drive there on Friday afternoon. spacesailor
Tucano Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 Hi For campers: I have had some enquiries about camping and I am telling them: 1. It can get bloody cold 2. There will be an area reserved/prepared/mown for campers, 3. No fires permitted 4. Portoloos will be provided but services are limited 5. and unfortunately the forecast suggests there may be the possibility of some showers/rain. Rob 1
Tucano Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 If you want you can bed down in my hangar space sailor - cold but dry
spacesailor Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Many thanks, Tucano. But have Camper plus camper-trailer, so should be ok, maybe a bit chilly. I'll throw in extra blankets. spacesailor
Soleair Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I'm planning to fly into the Rylstone bash in my MiniMax - weather permitting. Be good to meet any Recflyer forum pilots. Bruce
alf jessup Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 All depending on the weather for me as getting across the divide from East Gippsland will be a challenge The long range forecast is looking ordinary to say the least Lots of rocks and timber in those clouds in the divide
Old Koreelah Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 If you want you can bed down in my hangar space sailor - cold but dry Tucana does that offer apply to do other dodgy characters who turn up on the day? I've been planning to fly in; if I get lucky with the weather, I'd like to leave my tent behind.
Tucano Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 We now have 24 hour weather cams at the airdrome YRYL Aerodrome Wx & Cameras - Rylstone Aerodrome Airpark Community Gary 1
Old Koreelah Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 OK by me plenty of room in the hangar Sorry I can't make it this time. Hope the weather gods are kinder to you next time.
Soleair Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Me neither. Bummer. No rain & perfect flying conditions for weeks, then - this. D'Oh! Bruce 1
Tucano Posted May 22, 2017 Author Posted May 22, 2017 Guess how we felt by 19 aircraft showed no one hurt and there is next year
Old Koreelah Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Guess how we felt by 19 aircraft showed no one hurt and there is next year Given the crap weather forecast, that's a great outcome. If conditions are favourable, next year should be huge.
Tucano Posted May 22, 2017 Author Posted May 22, 2017 We has 80 plus indicating they were coming - bigger and better next year
spacesailor Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 But Saturday was Brilliant. Sorry I didn't find you, Tucano, But met an Oaks flyer that has taken a hanger there. spacesailor
alf jessup Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Can't help it if the weatherman got it wrong Cancelled because of the predicted forecast and made other plans Turned out lovely here Saturday morning but looked cloudy over the ranges Always next year
spacesailor Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 A couple of phone picks. Nano-light has no registration, tiny motor, 10 litres fuel and go's quite well. The big Yacks use 38 litres per hour in cruise, 45 when doing aerobatics. spacesailor
Tucano Posted May 8, 2018 Author Posted May 8, 2018 Hi Reminder to all the Flying at Rylstone is on Saturday the 19th and everyone is welcome to attend. See you at No 27 my hangar if you want to take the time Have fun
Thruster88 Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 I hope to be there, weather is looking good for flying not so good for farming
Tucano Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 OK - weathers good , all the primary pilot food groups are on field even avgas, 80 plus aircraft confirmed, aerobatic display, aircraft auction in case you want to walk home. I have a hangar that is dry in case you want to flying in on the Friday could even find a slot for a small aircraft. "What is your excuse?" More infor on the Rylstone Airpark Web Site
Old Koreelah Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 My excuse? This is the second time I've tried to get there; this time it clashes with a seminar in Tamworth being run by RAA. Maybe next year...
