Garfly Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 News | Eduard Funny how one thing leads to another in a meandering online search. When I got caught up in the history of the Messerschmitt Me-108 the other day, I posted a link here - in another thread - to a1930's documentary about the production of that plane. That led me on, of course, to lots of stuff about the Me-109, including, finally, a hilarious commercial promoting a new plastic model kit of the legendary fighter. So, what the heck, I posted that link too; some off-topic comic relief. It shows a Czech 'farm-girl' bringing down an Me-109 that had been annoying her with the hoe she had to hand. (It must be said, that for a farm girl, it looked like her first time ever to actually use a hoe in anger. But oh, what anger! ;-) Anyway, a bit intrigued by that small masterwork, I followed up the kit company online - it's in the Czech republic - only to discover that the latest addition to their catalogue is a new Spitfire Mk8 kit with decals and suggested colour schemes that faithfully reproduce fully 32 variously marked actual RAAF aircraft. I was amazed by the amount of research that they'd invested. A really dedicated work of aviation history. In the online instruction manual for the kit they detail and illustrate every one of those planes noting which airfields they operated from and even the individual pilots who flew them. Wow! It's a bit of a hefty download (nearly 58 Mb) but you can see it here in all its glory: https://www.eduard.com/store/out/media/InfoEduard/archive/2017/info-eduard-2017-02EN.pdf 4
