David2ayo Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Obviously not a Stol pigeon. I have never seen a bird perched at 90 degrees to a strong wind. Photo shopped? If it was a budgie, it could have been nailed to its perch (just ask John Cleese) David 2
IBob Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 That'll be the Stretch Dreamliner.........I was afraid of this......(
cscotthendry Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 TIF ? Pic from USA AOPA Obviously a very slow flight. Not exactly "bird strike from behind" slow, but nearly. 1
IBob Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 TIF ? Pic from USA AOPA I can see Questions being Asked in the pigeon racing world.......... 3
pmccarthy Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 WW2 British bombers carried pigeons, but I don't think they had to perch outside.
IBob Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 seen a few galahs in planes :sorry:neil You get the odd drongo too: you can tell by the eyes....... 2
Deskpilot Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Of course it can fly, but only vertically, and in a dive. 1
pmccarthy Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I guess your point is that they should have been mounted upright on top of the wing.
old man emu Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Aww sh|t. Clover Moore is going to demand bicycle lanes on runways now. OME
Nico13 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Ailerons are a bit stiff, hows those tie straps?
Riley Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Ailerons are a bit stiff, hows those tie straps? If it happened to be photoed in OZ, can't you just see CASA crapping themselves in attempts to identify the pilot/cyclist? 2
red750 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Lots of external load photos on the net. Mainly on Otters, which have approved hard points.

red750 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 That 'Otter' with the tinnie sure looks like a Beaver (Beavers have flat tails - Otter tails are rat-like, that's how you tell the difference). See the time posted. Way past my bedtime watching the F1 GP. 1
IBob Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 The l Can I just ask, why the hell wouldn't you at least put the pointy bits of the tinny at the front?? Going backwards it'll be mainly a lot more drag...but going forwards, it's a sort of wing, who knows what sort of aerodynamic effect it might have...and maybe someone found that out the hard way??? 1
