Flightrite Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 That’s been around a long time but still amusing😂
facthunter Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Silly all right. The DC9 Nav and flight management system was about as good as that of the DC6 so if you are getting lost you are getting lost FAST... Portrayals such as this perpetuate the Myth that you fly just by pressing a couple of Buttons in the later stuff.. You do press buttons but you must understand WHAT happens when you do.. IF Airlines COULD they would dispense with Pilots because they don't like Paying for skills and experience and they are Jealous of what they think a pilot's lifestyle is The days of having ex pilots as Managers are long gone. Nev The technology is well and truly here to enable airlines to operate without pilots, the problem is who would want to travel on a pilotless aircraft. 1
Flightrite Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Boeing have self demonstrated of late that pilot-less planes would be suicide!

Marty_d Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Because the chances are the build quality would be the same as piloted ones.
facthunter Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Thread drift from a "Silly Pictures" Topic? Nev 1

facthunter Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 I beg to differ I was on topic and talking of the 'Inferences' inherent in the silly Pictures and the effect likely to be formed from the slanted message contained therein. Nev 1 1

flying dog Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 (Sorry folks, but I am getting notifications every time someone posts here.) No big deal, but I was wanting to know how I *opt out* of the messages? Sorry if dumb question. But other forums if you are "subscribed" to a thread, there is an "opt out" option shown. I am not seeing that here.
red750 Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 When you want to carry more cargo but don’t want to retrain your pilots… 3

IBob Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Depends what you are viewing on Flying Dog: On my laptop/PC it's a blue Following button at the top RH corner of the thread. Click on that and you can unfollow the thread.
flying dog Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Thanks Deamp747. Not quite what I was meaning. IBob... That's what I wasn't seeing. Thanks.
Flightrite Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Guess where? A year or two ago now. You’d cry turning up at the airport in your boat to see that!
facthunter Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 Near Lismore I would think. Ballina is one of the worst places so it turns out for potential flooding. Nev
