Phil Perry Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 We've only had ONE ( forutnately ) fatality local to where I live, where a man purchased a Flexwing Trike,. . had TWO ( a whole TWO ) passenger flights in the back seat with someperson who was an 'Alleged' instructor, befor he climbed into the front seat and attmpted to fly it himself, with (a s it turned out at the coroner's court hearing ) NO flying training whatsoever, theoretical nor practical, just thea forementoned TWO passenger rides.. Several people at this flying 'Group' INLCULDING THE SO-CALLED 'INSTRUCTOR' ( Who, in the ensuing investigation, turned out to have no formal instructional experience whatsoever ) actually watched and amazingly did not attempt to stop Him doing this, which, in my cynical view, was potentially aiding and abetting a suicide. The Surface wind was gusty, and it was a warm day. The man managed to get the aircraft off the ground and climbed very steeply to an estimated 200 feet. . . .he then ( apparently ) took his foot off the throttle and the aircraft stalled immediately and spiralled vertically into the ground. The occupant suffered fatal injuries during the impact and the aircraft was destroyed. There exists a bunch of people in Scotland, who do stuff like this, ie, flying under the radar, with no permits, Insurance, instruction, nothing. . .but they seem to get away with it. Very sad. And BTW,. . .Nice to see you posting Joe ( SRP )
