Rans S6 Fatality @ Glenomaru,The Catlins, Otago NZ

A couple of my NZ Friends who I have supplied a few Rans S6 Microlights who are the NZ Rans Specialists were tasked with clearing up the wreckage of ZK-TJE after this Fatal Accident. The report I have read is not a pleasant read and nor were the pictures I saw of the debris

Narrative:

 

The aircraft impacted rolling, open field terrain In the Glenomaru Valley on the South Island. The airplane sustained substantial damage and the two occupants onboard were fatally injured.

 

Very sad when anyone dies in an Aircraft Crash whilst enjoying their hobby.

Strange, both the spinner, (and one blade) and the tail of the aircraft don't seam to be damaged.

from what little we can see in the photos, it looks like the type of country you could do a good landing in.

Something tells me the mess the wreckage is in might have a lot to do with the rescue personnel aswell. In the video you can see the tail up in the air yet the photos it's on the ground and the wings are nicely placed alongside the fuse.
