codlocks Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Can anyone recommend a good quality pneumatic riveter that is available locally in Australia. Thanks Chris
Thruster87 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Hi Chris, I bought a gun kit on ebay for around $185.00 landed including 28 snaps and 3 bucking bars. Sioux,APT,Dotco,Jiffy, Ingersoll Rand are the some of brands I'd be looking for in a 2x or 3x size .401 shank fit, for the average kit.Check out the following site in the USA Cheers T87 http://www.cpostores.com/yardstore/browse.cfm/2,402.htm
Case Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 G'day Chris, Not sure what's available in Australia but Zenith aircraft sell a riveter with their aircraft kits. Have a look at http://www.zenithair.com/kit/tools/index.html
codlocks Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 Thanks Thruster87 and Case for those links - will follow up. Regards Chris
bushcaddy105 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Aircraft Tool Supply Company - www.aircraft-tool.com Will take on-line orders and offer good service, even to replacing a tool part which I admitted broke through a mistake on my part, and not charging for it.
vk3auu Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I could be wrong, but the Zenith rivetter is probably just for pulling Avex pop rivets of which my CH701 has about 7000. David
Thruster87 Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Came across this OZ site for tools etc www.idp.net.au They sell 1/8th clecos for $1.00 + gst each and around $11.00 postage to NSW for 100. Cheers T87
codlocks Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 Folks - thanks for your responses. T87 - I had a look at http://www.idp.net.au. They appear to stock quite a good range. I couldn't see any prices though. Did you email their sales people for those prices you have ? Bushcaddy105 - I read on the builder's section of the RA-Aus site a similar comment by a chap called Tony Stiller (BushCaddy rep at Caboolture) who also found exceptional service with Aircraft Tool Supply Co. I place alot of value on service so it is good to know there are some serious and decent suppliers out there. vk3auu - thanks and that's a nice looking CH701. Regards, Chris
Thruster87 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Howdy codlocks, Yes I emailed them and got a prompt reply on the prices Cheers T87
