dominicm Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 The Phoenix Models Tucano ARF is designed for petrol/gas power but the owner converted it to Wren 44 turbo prop. 1
Litespeed Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Looks and sounds the part. Maybe the Pheonix models have improved a great deal- must have or it was strengthened a lot. I remember early ones built from poplar and any other wood except for balsa and spruce- truly a self exploding machine. It must be better or he rebuilt it and added strength then recovered. This brand was really shoddy last time I used one- self imploded on low g turns. That was 4 years ago so maybe they are better. He must have faith to put that motor in it.
Mick Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 That's interesting. I have seen 2 Comp ARF Tucanos with turbo props & the sound did not impress me. They sounded no different to a big electric. In your video the turbine sounds comes across very clearly, the ones I saw were just all prop noise.
Litespeed Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Ok I admit Vmar were the worst but it comes in a close second
